The cement tiles

Cement tiles are multi-layered tiles and were born at the end of the 19th century. The lower part of the cement tiles is made up of high-strength cement and aggregates, the upper layer is made up of marble powder, white cement and colored inorganic pigments.

Our cement tiles are still made as they once were, handmade one by one. Various models are presented in the catalog but through the use of matrices it is possible to create infinite designs with different colours, even on a project basis.

THE GRITS

Grits were born towards the end of the 19th century as a natural evolution of the Venetian terrazzo technique, made of lime and pieces of marble and widespread in Venetian patrician residences since the Middle Ages. The difference between the two types of flooring lies in the size of the marble used as aggregate, which in graniglia tiles has a decidedly smaller grain size. The combination of concrete and colored marble fragments offers great decorative versatility while maintaining high wear resistance. One of the advantages of grit floors, whether they are made with fine-grained or coarse-grained marble fragments, is that they can be sanded even several times over time.
